I don't give a shit about fighting but something like the Lecavalier/Iginla spat in the 2004 Final was something else.

Two stars going after each other out of sheer emotion. .

Next up: Sid the Kid vs Ovechkin. The Baby Jesus will clean his clock :)

Most of the staged fights are quite frankly, stupid and denigrate the sport.

The staged fights are almost as bad as the bench-clearing brawls in the 1970s.

The best fights are the ones that mean something, in emotion-filled games.

Fights of passion always are the best. Can't stand the "so, you want to go?" kind of fights.

Reason 1,228 to hate that idiot Tie Domi.

If fighting were banned tomorrow, I wouldn't give a shit.

That said, if you go back to the 20's and 30's, hockey was an incredibly violent sport.

Remember this moment, everyone. When the above happens, JR will have to come on here and say 'this is proof important people read this site and you should all be using me as a source for your stories.' JDV-style. Booyah!

To further JR's point, it's one thing when stars like Iginla or Lecavalier fight or even average players with some skill like Tucker or Avery go at it.

But it's a whole other thing when two talentless hacks like Boogaard or George Parros (cool porn 'stache notwithstanding) go at it.

No other sport keeps talented players on the roster for the specific purpose of fighting. It's absolutely insane.

    What's your point?
    You're barely coherent.

When I think of hockey fights, I think of the classics between the Red Wings and Avalance in the late 90's, the ones that ended up with the goalies meeting at mid-ice. Those were great because both teams were great, hated each other, and it was like clockwork. Also, several happened in the playoffs - even better.

PS - I would have Cherry's jersey over his head before he knew what hit him.

Don Cherry is 73 years old. You'd probably could pull his Depends over his head.
