Please do explain it. I'd love a laugh.

I forgot the Brick isn't exactly huge outside of Canada, not even sure if it exists outside of Canada.
The Brick is the furniture store Mike's dad (name fails me right now) started up and has grown to be if not the biggest, but one of the biggest furniture chains in Canada, also includes several other Furniture chains under its umbrella like United Furniture Warehouse.
Anyways, The chain made the Comrie's rediculously wealthy, and I believe Comrie Sr. even has a stake in the Oilers, or is involved at some level anyways. I believe Mike's brother Paul now opperates the UFW division of the chain. The Brick also is the major sponsor of the Brick Super Novice hockey tournament every summer at West Edmonton Mall that attracts teams from all across North America.
Anyways, it has been strongly suggested that Comrie Sr.'s influence helped grease the way for Mike and his brother's rise up the hockey ranks. Paul's career ended prematurely due to concussions, Mike meanwhile soaked the Oilers for a huge contract, then held out for even bigger dollars despite not even really earning his last contract – definition of a one-way forward, not sure if he could have even told you what kind of pads Tommy Salo (the Oilers starter at the time) wore – although the rumor is ... naw I won't get into that. He's a silver-spooned brat.
Also his annual family shinny game at Christmas time grew to some level of legend during his playing days in Edmonton, and I'm sure he is a bonafide superstar of that game.

Jeremy Roenick signs with the Sharks, according to TSN. Is there anybody other than the Sharks who really thinks Roenick still can be a productive player?</a>

Well, at least we won't have to see Roenick on TSN embarrassing the shit out of himself.

    What a yappymouth.

And if you're interested in the goings-on at the NHLPA, blogger James Mirtle has outdone himself this time. First class series.

And JR slams JR ... seems fitting. And yes ... I'm merely picking at this board's JR. :)

The Sharks were right about Joe Thornton, but I don't see that Midas touch with this move.

For $500k, I think Roenick isn't a bad option. If it fails, no big deal. If it works, the Sharks are even better.

My only question is what has he done to make anyone think that it would work. San Jose has a great young team and I just don't understand how throwing this idiot into the mix is going to help

Can't wait for Roenick to cry about something in a preseason game. Sharks made a mistake, one that might seem like a $500,000 mistake, but given what he'll do to the team in the room, it'll cost them much more.

    Story from yahoo.com (via Ticker)

Max McNab, a former NHL player and general manager, died on Sunday. He was 83.
A Stanley Cup champion in 1950, McNab played center in parts of four seasons with the Detroit Red Wings. He also was the GM for the New Jersey Devils and Washington Capitals after his playing days.
He was the Devils' second GM and eventually was succeeded by Lou Lamoriello in 1987. But McNab remained with the team as an executive until 1994.
His son Peter played 14 seasons in the NHL with the Devils, Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks. His other son, David, is the assistant GM with the Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks.

As much as it pains me to say it, as far as the RBK sweaters are considered, they're actually pretty decent.
