I have a question for someone...if they have Niedermayer and Selanne in their hockey pool, would they be wise to get rid of them or keep them?

You are probably best served moving them to your bench.

If you want to know which new hockey books are coming out, here's a link. The blog's pretty pedestrian but it's a nice preview. (All the publishers mentioned are Canadian but you can probably find most of these at Amazon.

Looks like there are some good reads there, especially the Gretzky-to-Lemieux book.

Now's there's another way to get your hockey fix, if you own Sirius.

Nice piece on the Staal parents. Talk about salt of the earth.

That's how it happened for the Staal boys: they had good stock, good fortune and two down-to-earth parents to push them, but not so much when it came to hockey. As explanations go, that will have to do. Certainly, it's enough for Henry and Linda.

"I know there are a lot of parents who want their kids to play in the NHL. We weren't that way," Henry says matter of factly. "Maybe that was best."

    Yeah, that was best.

Question, would you keep Nathan Horton on a fantasy team or get rid of him?

Worthy read. Nice to know some parents aren't money-hungry control freaks.

    Thanks.

    I'd keep Horton.

Mike Dunham retired after 10 years Monday to become the goaltending coach of the New York Islanders.

Now to see if he gets a 15-year deal and/or is moved into the front office. Stay Tuned.
