Top 10 but definitely nowhere near those three.

Uh...perhaps you've never heard of Larry Robinson or Scott Stevens?

You mean former Colorado Rockies No. 1 overall pick Rob Ramage.

Robinson was a great player but not in the same league as these three guys.

Scott Stevens? Uh, not even in the same universe.

Leetch is the greatest American born defenseman.

Again ... top 10 but nowhere near those three. Niedermayer has dominated the game at every level.

To put Niedermayer's career into a little perspective--

He's the only player in hockey history to have won:

    The Stanley Cup
    The World Junior Championship
    The IIHF World Championship
    The Memorial Cup
    Olympic Gold Medal
The World Cup of Hockey (for what that's worth)

Oh, and as an add-on, he won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP

Funny how he keeps latching on to those championship teams. :)

How many Norris Trophies did Ray Bourque win?

I was going to ask about Bourque too, and while you're at it, how about Nik Lidstrom?

And while we're on the subject of DUIs today, the Leafs have suspended Mark Bell ...

    http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=218124&hubname=

Toronto Maple Leafs' Mark Bell was suspended without pay for 15 regular-season games by the NHL on Wednesday.

The suspension stems from a driving under the influence of alcohol incident in California on September 1st, 2006. Bell will serve six months in county jail at the end of the season as a result. The 27-year-old was with the San Jose Sharks at the time.

"Playing in the National Hockey League is a privilege, and with that privilege comes a corresponding responsibility for exemplary conduct off the ice as well as on it," said NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.

"However, over the past year, Mark has made extraordinary strides in his rehabilitation," added Bettman. "This positive progress was a material factor in reducing what could have been a lengthier suspension."

Ok. Bourque, Lidstrom, Chelios and Pronger could be added to the list.

Does that mean that Chris Drury is a All timer 1st ballot HOF'er as well? Doesn't he keep latching onto those championship teams?
