To my knowledge I don't think the Oilers are hosting a draft party but I could be wrong. Regardless, even if they were I certainly would not pay $50 to get in and $10 a beer, unless I got to sit next to Kevin Lowe at the Draft. I think for the most part people have their own draft parties, I know I am going to be juggling work so that I can see most of the first round somewhere.

Disagree. He was instrumental in making hockey teams damn good.

You could make a case that Niedermayer is one of the best defensemen of the last 50 years.

It's no coincidence that the Devils became as good as they were when Niedermayer joined the team. Just like it's no coincidence that the Ducks suddenly became Cup contenders (and winners) when he went to Anaheim.

I think I posted this before. Someone once said of another athlete (forgotten who) "Funny how those championship teams keep following him around"

I posted on a baseball thread once. It was scary.

Just a solid, smart player who is equally adept playing defense, slowing the tempo down and scoring the big goal when he opts to move up on the attack. A complete player who is a consumate pro. I don't care if people think he's not the best defenseman, his resume, however, backs up the kind of player he's always been -- a quiet winner.

I saw a report on the Fox Sports scroll that Detroit won't re-sign Robert Lang, who is a free agent. Any thoughts on where he'd go?

Would be news to me ... but it could be different now with the recent opening of Flames Central, a new downtown bar, which I believe is owned and operated by the team.

So, my question is: will FoF be sending us regular updates from the draft?

Rumoutrs du jour in today's Toronto Sun (and other outlets too, I imagine): Canucks may trade up to take BC boy Kyle Turris No. 1, Flyers might be looking to move out of the two spot.
