I'm surprised at how active Shero is alleged to be. I thought I'd be able to coast through the night without having to check the Pens fansites every two minutes.

If the Caps are smart, they keep Kovalev far away from Ovechkin and Semin.

Well, they've got a goalie now again.

despite moving a major contract off the books, I have a hard time calling this a straight salary dump for the Preds as I think Mason became a true Number one last year, playing just as good if not better, and fits their future plans much better.

One other goalie I think that could be up for grabs would be Bryzgalov in Anaheim now that the Ducks have fully committed to Giggy for the next four years. Don't think he wants to be mired behind a guy that's going to be playing 65+ games a season.

It seems like Poile is unloading players for picks and cap room before the move to Hamilton. Could he be stockpiling chips in an effort to draft John Tavares in two years?

Florida now has a No. 1 in Vokoun, possibly a No. 2 if they can re-sign Belfour and re-signed Nathan Horton. Is that enough for the Panthers to sneak into the playoffs?

    Balsillie: 0-for-2?

Nashville owner Craig Leipold has advised the NHL to no longer consider Jim Balsillie as a prospective owner of the team.

I can't wait to see how the Bruins mess up the draft......maybe they'll deal the #8 pick for Andrew Raycroft.

Two Americans go No. 1 and No. 2 for the first time in NHL draft history.

No surprises so far I guess except for Hickey at number 4 by LA.

Lots of scouts apparently thought he was a second round pick.

    Hopefully the Canes get Esposito.

    Had their chance.

Now they've got a Staal and a Sutter.

Can't go wrong with a Sutter, I guess.
