I think Weekes will get 8-10 regular-season games per season.

That's what I was thinking ... not much opportunity to fuck up.

But also an opportunity to see day in, day out what Brodeur does to be a solid goaltender (yes, and I did rip him for this year's playoff effort).

Barring the last post-season, there is no better goalie in the game today ... if there were game-saves in hockey, he'd be the leader.

Agreed. I feel a bit for Clemmensen in his situation, but hey, he knows the drill.

There are few teams left who are fortunate to have that type of goalie. I'm not a Patrick Roy fan but anyone would be hard-pressed to name the complete roster of backups who played with him. They were almost unnecessary. Same as Brodeur.

Don't know if its already been posted, but Slava Kozlov re-signs with Thrashers. What else does Atlanta need to make another playoff appearance and not get swept?

Red Light Racicot was probably Roy's most notorious backup with the Habs. He had a couple of decent ones with the Avs: Marc Denis and David Aebischer.

Goaltending and a collective pair of balls.

And those are about the only ones I could come up with, too! Of course, we all know by now which never-was goalie was drafted by the Habs the same year Roy was ...

    HOORAY.....the sabres signed someone.
SIGH...it's not Mike Comrie (Isles) or Souray (still UFA)

Jocelyn Thibault to back up Miller and Andrew Peters and Mike Ryan (another promising youngster) signed Thursday.
Like the addition of Thibault. Immediately more credibility than Conklin.

Somebody wanted Mike Comrie to play for their team? Will wonders never cease ...
