FYI: The Stanley Cup will be here in Nova Scotia on August 9th. There is supposed to be a parade in Cole Harbour that day.

    Did Crosby win the Cup?

No Joey DiPenta who is from Cole Harbour and Jean Sebastian Giguere (whose wife is from this area) won for the Ducks. Hence, why the Cup is coming here....finally!!!

Who is Joey DiPenta? I'm too lazy to look it up. Is he a player or a trainer or something? Really, I have no idea.

This probably deserves its own thread...

Crosby signs five-year extension with Pens. Nice.

The Pens will become the next great hockey dynasty with Crosby, Malkin, Fleury and Staal as the core of the team. They will win a few Cups with this group.

Glad the Pens locked Sid up for five additional years. He deserves the deal.

I'm not yet sold on Fleury, he shows flashes of brilliance, but he is far too inconistent. I know he's young, but he does already have two and a half full seasons under his belt already. I'm just not sold on him one way or the other. I'd make sure I have Staal and Malkin signed before Fleury gets a big pay day.

Wasn't the outdoor Michigan-Michigan State game called the Ice Bowl.

    It's been done.

I'm with you, Beef. he has yet to show himself as a big-game goalie. Anyone who saw him shit the bed in the World Junior final in Finland against the US will agree with that.

Agreed, but I'd be even more concerned with the notion that the Penguins defence is good enough to win Cups, unless they think they can outscore everyone.
