    I was just thinking that....I am not sure that it will make people in the States watch the NHL thought?

    Even at their age, they'd put some of those Long Island punks to shame.

    Don't forget to give credit where it's due, though, Beef. The good folks who currently own the Oilers have been through hell and back to keep that team running. Same as down here.

    Unreal where both teams have been and where they are now, both considering new arenas.

    Absolutely, I rarely ever forget to sing the praises of the EIG (Edmonton Investors Group). If it wasn't for them we'd be talking about the Les Alexander owned and opperated Houston Oilers. What they did, especially on the level of what they did was encredible, especially considering how risky a proposition it was at the time to own the Oilers. That being said I would like to see one stable owner in place now who is willing to spend his own money on a stadium and is not looking to milk three levels of government for all he can in the process.

    Laughable story of the day.

    Yashin is going to play in the Russian SuperLeague this season.

    And we have a quote of the day!

    From the story:
    Yashin? Lead? He couldn't lead a bear to shit in the woods.

    Making a living heart donor a leader? Someone's kidding, aren't they?

    Wait until Ms. Alt finds out where she's heading ...

    Ms. Alt might beg Rangers legend Ron Greschner to take her back once she hears Holdout Boy wants to head back to the Motherland.

    I am predicting the relationship between Alt and Yashin done because of the move. I guess no one wanted to take a chance on Yashin in the NHL. It's clear that teams see him as a cancer and too expensive.

    Carol Alt seems to be the NHL's answer to Alyssa Milano.

    <a href="http://www.poynter.org/column.asp?id=31&aid=127100">
    It looks like the NHL has come up with its answer to mlb.tv.</a>

    It's more expensive ($160) than mlb.tv. According to this, you'll get the pregame and postgame shows that you rarely see on Center Ice (For some reason, I always was able to see the Avalanche postgame shows on the Center Ice package I got through Dish Network.)

    <a href="http://www.nhl.com/nhlhq/centerice_online.html">
    Here's the page on nhl.com about it.</a>

    If you get the Center Ice package through your TV provider, you still have to pay for the online option. You get 50 percent off, though.
