I'm pretty sure it's a fish. The Boise Idaho ECHL franchise uses it for their name, too.

It is, in fact, a fish. A species of trout IIRC.

If I'm Flyers management--and I'm not, becuase I would never trade for Todd Fedoruk--I make a huge offer to J.S. Gigure.

But, knowing that brain trust, they'll sign Mike Dunham.

Fuck them. That is all. Gawd, that team is becoming an example of what not to do.

I'll be happy if the Flyers continue to do what sportschick and hockeybeat say they do. Go Devils! (Devils had Dunham once, left him unprotected when Nashville came into the league).

The show was "Power Play." And it was awesome. Still miss it.

The name of D'Angelo's brewery, btw, is Steelback....so theoretically, Steelheads could be in play.

On the Preds: I have a friend in the Kitchener-Waterloo area who keeps trying to convince me a team could go there instead of Hamilton, because it's outside the 50-mile radius for both Toronto and Buffalo.

Is this even remotely a possibility, or is he smokin' something illegal?

Very distinct possibility I think. Balsillie has his corporate HQ there and has enough land to build an arena.

If anything, Hamilton is probably just a temporary home until the new arena is built.

That's far less painful than 'Mighty Ducks.'

I was away, but I understand from the AP story that there was a glitch and the awards ceremony wasn't on Versus? Will the NHL ever catch a break with regard to TV?

Martin Biron has proven himself time and again as a bonafide NHL No. 1 goaltender. Should he lose his starting job in Philadelphia just because he happened to play alongside Ryan Miller for a few years? Philly finally got a goaltending decision right. Giguere and his salary are not needed.
