Saw a thread on Cal Puck about Oleg Saprykin signing in Russia. Hit the link. Guess who else has signed with the Russia Super League?

    Good ole spear-'em-in-the-gut-if-they-get-too-much-of-a-lead Noodles.

Career NHL backup goalie Jamie McLennan signed a one year agreement with HC Metallurg (Magnitogorsk) today. He has been brought in to replace the departed Travis Scott, who left Russia to play in Germany. The 36 year old NHL veteran is already in Russia and has been issued a Russian working visa. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Most recently, McLennan filled the back-up role with the Calgary Flames behind Mikka Kiprusoff.

By the way, that was a 'sic' in Miikka.

Give it up to Kevin Lowe. He truly doesn't care about the RFA restrictions.

I don't think Keenan will crush the kids' energy and spiirt.

I think he'll burn their spirit to the ground before having Sutter trade them for the 1987 Flyers.

Outstanding. What is he gonna do when the Russian studs score four, five goals a game on him? Spear them all?

The Flyers and not the 1989-90 Blackhawks?

I'm sure he can coax Messier out of retirement for a thrid go-round of the coupling.

    Well, both.

My favorite Keenan quote comes from Doug Wilson, who said, "No team won so often and had less fun doing so."

That money for Dustin Penner is ludicrous though, he's a decent winger... but $4 million per? I wouldn't be at all surprised if Burke gladly hands him over for that much money and takes the glut of picks.

Gotta love the Oilers too. First they whine about how they wouldn't exist without a salary cap, then they spend more money than they ever did now that they've got one. Good thing the Canadian dollar gives them some excuse for acting the way they are.

I'm loving this Russian prospects site.

    Check out the Yashin interview:

"I did have a good number of options in North America. Some were actually quite interesting. But we all in the family weighted all the factors and decided to return to Russia."
