Can someone explain to me why the four games in Canada are all in the West?

Saskatoon, Red Deer, Calgary & Vanouver?

Shame. One of the games should have been in Ottawa.

Or Toronto. And one in Montreal.

I would have gone up for a game. I would not have come back, but that's another story.

Rangers are close to signing Peca.

That is the most stupidest thing. What is wrong with them? I always look forward to some of the East/West matchups. It is always refreshing to see different teams play the Leafs. I always used to fly up to Toronto to see the Avs play the Leafs because they are the two teams I follow. Anyone who knows me knows that my dream Stanley Cup final is between both these teams and since it's wishful thinking, I always looked forward to this match-up. I also like to see Sid play the West teams and that is not even happening.

    Royal idiots at the NHL!

I saw Sid vs. the Ducks last year for this very reason. It doesn't happen much now with the way they do the NHL scheduling. This year, however, as a longtime Devils fan who lives in California, I am planning to head to Newark for back-to-back games at the new arena, but my hope is also to see either the Ducks or Kings against the Leafs and Canadiens.

If the NHL is going back to ESPN I wouldn't be surprised to see the league go back to a full East-West schedule. You ESPN is going to push for as many games involving Pittsburgh each year as possible and they'll want at least a few of them to be against Detroit, Colorado and Anaheim.

Except there are too many teams in the East who will fight against that sort of schedule.

That said, the present one is horrible. I sure as hell don't want to see 8 Boston/Leafs games and none against Vancouver Edmonton or Calgary. Plain dumb.

This is a league that has hired Jeremy Jacobs as it Chairman.
The schedule is ridiculous can you imagine if in the 80's the Celtics and Lakers did not play every year or Michael Jordan played in LA once every 3 years. The biggest proponent of this schedule is Lou Lamorello and the old boys network that save money on travel.
