This is a guess from a long distance, but the sense you get is that while he may not have meant it to sound like an order that players had to let him scroll through their phones, it was taken that way by young players who didn't think they could say no, and who viewed it as a pretty stark invasion of privacy (imagine what might be in the photos saved on the phone of 20-year-old athletes . . .).

Mike Commodore should move on and get a life. I saw him play. He wasn't that good. He should be thankful he was in the NHL as long as he was and should get a real job.

His beef with Babcock seems to be that he was promised a playing job and then sat in the press box. As much as I hate to side with Babcock, maybe he legitimately thought Commodore wasn’t a bottom pairing guy. He was already washing out.

There are lots of shitty Babcock stories out there; I’m not sure that Commodore’s is one of them.

Babcock may be a right asshole but other than Mike Commodore, virtually nobody cares what Mike Commodore thinks.

Interviewed Commodore when he was - briefly - with the Hamilton Bulldogs. Very entertaining interview.

Commodore hooked a bunch of fans in Raleigh. A lot of white bathrobes with his "22" worn, along with red curly-haired wigs, in the ESA during his run there.

Wanted tickets for Bedard’s first game in Pgh but tickets were prohibitively expensive. So we got tickets to see him in Columbus the day before Thanksgiving. Coincidentally, it’s my wife’s birthday.
