    Point well taken.

But until then ... he was better than Nolasco this season.

I love Nolasco, but I'd rather have Jurrjens.

And I'm not ready to say Hudson won't come back and be solid.

    Nolasco has flipped the switch.

On June 14, he had never struck out more than 7 in a game in 54 starts.

In the 10 starts since then, he has struck out more than 7 five times, with a 13K game and a 12K game in the mix.

Yes, he is three years younger and arbitration is a million miles away.

    Agreed.

Is he really so good or is he just going through a good stretch? I haven't actually seen him pitch so I'm genuinely asking. He wasn't great in April and May (5.79 and 3.97 ERA and 1.41 and 1.37 WHIP) before improving greatly in June and July.

Jurrjens in his last eight starts:

    56 IP, 45 H, 16 R, 13 ER, 14 BB, 41 K, 2.09 ERA, .220 opp.BA

At worst, he's matched Nolasco's "switch," start for start.

Another thing we can agree on, Simon ... Ricky Nolasco > Juan Fucking Pierre.

And who grounded into a double-play last night in the bottom of the ninth inning of a one-run game. Bay, in the meantime, has reached base six times, scored four runs and knocked in three RBI since arriving at Fenway and is starting to annoy me.

    He's average ... pure woodwork

The strikeout stat I just gave you is pretty telling.

Bay's off to a nice start, but that's an awfully small sample size. Don't get me wrong, I think Bay is a very good player, but he's not Manny.

That's right. Those poor Marlins. So poor they couldn't afford Manny unless the Red Sox gave them $2 million more.

I was hoping there was hope for you when you recognized what a shitty, pathetic, we-refuse-to-swim-with-the-big-boys-even-though-our-feet-can-touch-the-bottom move that was. Oh well.
