The Phillies acquired Scott Eyre from the Cubs for a Class A pitcher.

One Class A pitcher for another...seems like a fair deal.

    Should've traded Bob Howry ...

Eyre is good at getting his teams out of jams, but he usually does that by clearing the bases with a home run.

    You mean he's Aaron Heilman?

Remember when Heilman was supposed to be a great starter?

    No, more like Scott Schoeneweis.

Remember when the Mets wouldn't trade Heilman and Lastings Milledge to the Rangers for Soriano?

One thing I must say about Johan Santana. He did not look happy when Manuel came out to get him in the eighth inning. So give him some credit.

And I have to ask ... who closes for the Mets tomorrow if they have a lead against the Marlins? Home run Schoenweis? No chance. Heilman? Kunz? Joe Smith? How about Skip Lockwood?

It would be nice if Reyes could get down a bunt without popping it straight into the air. But that's asking too much from this team.
