You guys wanna do some play-by-play so the Cubs and Mets fans have something to wake up to?

Rodney goes to 3-2 on Swisher with no outs in the bottom of the ninth in an 8-3 game.

Not for this game I don't want to.

The Marlins went 2-1 at Philly the past three days and the Mets did the same at home against the Padres. The records are the same, but the Marlins gained in that transaction.

You sure? Swisher just doubled to lead off the inning.

Think of the historical repercussions if we transcribed a Chicago comeback.

I'm not going to jinx it. If the Tigers do blow this game, I think Leyland will quit -- immediately.

I hope they bring Trammell back.

Rodney should really get a save for holding onto that five-run lead. I mean it. He's terrible.

Up in the booth, Lemke and Van Wieren are having a Charley Steiner-esque laughing fit right now -- trying to pronounce the name of Ooltewah, Tennessee. It's been a loooong week, and a long season, for the Braves.

Can't argue with that, much as I'd like to. Mets can't be feeling too good about this three-gamer coming up against the Marlins, either. They've got Brian Stokes starting the middle game in Maine's spot. That's Brian (4.41 ERA at New Orleans) Stokes.

Anybody else think that Scott Kazmir might be hitting the wall? His July-August numbers worry me, as does the opponents' elevated production in the fifth and sixth innings.

I know he's supposed to be the ace of the staff, but at this point I'm much more comfortable with Garza on the mound.
