How's our baseball matchup going, taters?

 

Baseball doesn't count anymore. Only football [/first round playoff looser]

 

We're tied 6-6, but you probably knew that long before I got around to replying. My batters took the night off and you got big leads there after one day.

 

Dooley - why did you cut Brad Penney? He is pitching tonight and now Big Dog has him .

I'm ready to throw in the towel after my offense took the first four days of the week off. Methinks I'm too far behind to catch up and reach the finals.

It was good run, I suppose. :'(

 

yeah but it makes no sense - penny is pitching tonight - Dooley must feel he has enough of lead on you and wants to play big dog

 

I think I would know if I had cut Penny. You should wish BigDog had him; he has sucked lately.

Just so you know how seriously we take this...Hots management meets once a month, admittedly not to discuss sports, although once we watched some Yankees baseball on tv (and sidebar to the ladies, you can learn a lot about a man by the way he watches his team, just something to think about...)

And typically we do not discuss baseball at 5 am, but today had the front desk call our room before dawn so we could make some moves before Big Dog and Idaho and Dooley could steal all the good pitchers for Sunday's death match.

This has been a draining and exhausting playoff run....and whatever happens, it is an honor to compete with you complete dorks fine people.

I frankly did not see anyone worth picking up. Maybe that because you already got them. Oh well, we'll go with the horses what brung us.

 

I'll second that.

This group of players are competitive, stay active the entire year and it's fun competing against with.

For comparison sakes, I joined another SportsJournalists.com baseball league and half the people stopped being active halfway through the season. (Admittedly, I also stopped activity in early August).



Oh and after I raid Marcus' Liquor Shop this Sunday, I'll hand out free booze.

 

Picking up those pitchers wouldn't help me. They'd give me more IPs and Ks, but no decisions or a stupid 2-1 loss.

And this has been one hell of a week for my batters to fall asleep and go on vacation.
