Defending champs aren't going down without a fight.

After Thursday I didn't think I had any chance after Dak and Dez combined for 0 of the possible 23 points.

And yet here we are today. I got desperate and picked up Gore and Stewart a few days ago.

Even if I hold on and win today, not sure it'll be enough to get me close enough to 6th place and the final playoff spot.

Yahoo has me down 6 but I think it's 12 because they gave Algohor 2 recovered fumble TDs when he had only 1.

Zuerlein may have been the death of me with his 18 points.

My last player -- Tucker -- goes tonight. If Yahoo did indeed fuck up, then Tucker needs to score at least 13 for me to get the win.

Pretty funny that my chances of getting into the playoffs lie in his performance tonight because I drafted him earlier than usual because of last season's stats.

But he hasn't quite lived up to those stats. Neither has Carr. Neither has Freeman. Neither has Parker. I almost think Tucker will ended up with 11 tonight just because.

If he doesn't score 13, there will be a new NIAFL champion in 2017.

This wouldn't be close if I had played Doctson instead of Golden Taint and Burkhead instead of Lewis. I'm pretty sure I'll make the wrong decision every week on that Patriots' RB cluster.

And, yes, from the box score it appears Yahoo is going to have to issue a correction. In another league I'm in, a true PPR league, Agholor only scored 18.3. And good looking out on Xing out my real name on the stat screen shot. Didn't even realize it was there.

LOL it'd still be close enough if I started Carr.

Either way, I've got the one seed wrapped, since Lions Empty Trophy Case lost. Like the Capitals, I'll enjoy putting up a banner for a regular-season championship. lol.

Holy shit, the defending champ lives thanks to Tucker.

I'm not surprised. Because of the stupid scoring in this league, where yardage is basically worthless, kickers and defenses have always played too big a role in outcomes. (Saying this well aware that I got 18 from Zuerlein.)

2:53 Justin Tucker kicked a 49-yard field goal

SJ.COMVILLE -- Those 4 points off the right foot of the Baltimore Ravens kicker late in Monday night's game kept the Xana'Rams alive for one more week in their pursuit for a second consecutive NIAFL football title.

The Xana'Rams ended a 3-week skid and improved to 6-6 while moving up from 8th to 6th. The Gunshow Poopholes fell to 9-2-1 but are still regular season champions.

The first 4 slots of the 2017 NIAFL playoffs are locked in with the Gunshow Poopholes, LionsEmptyTrophyCase, Skol Corby's Whiskey, and Flying Dutchmen.

Up for grabs in the final week are the last 2 slots and fighting for them are the Evil Hots, Xana'Rams, EddieDs Idiot Nephew, and Bread and Circuses.

Making the final week of the regular season even more intriguing is the matchup between the 6th-place Xana'Rams and 7th-place EddieDs Idiot Nephew.

Eddie Ds Idiot Nephew is favored to win 68-59 but the rosters have not been finalized.

And here we go. Good luck, Idiot Nephew.

This was the score in the second week of the season. I don't think it will be anything resembling this.

Poor Eddie D, highest-scoring team in the league by a wide margin and he needs to win and get some help to get in.

Also, we're back in bitches, 11 times in 15 seasons. Not too shabby. Time to try and win that fourth title.

Good luck today to all, even the Evil Hots.

Indeed, good luck. Hoping that picking up the Chicago defense this week isn't going to be my football equivalent of Brandon McCarthy.
