And for people to think this is the worst possible thing Harry could do, I don’t think so. Harry walking over to ancestry.com and getting $15-$20 million to offer up his DNA would be without a doubt the worst thing that could happen.

Why the hell anybody cares about what Harry and Meghan do, or don’t know, or what anybody in that family does, or doesn’t do, will never be even 1% clear to me.

Because a large segment of society believes in fairy tales.

Anyone who thought the Royal life was actually like a fairy tale and not filled with systemic oppression wasn't really looking? Remember that Britain colonized most of the world and the Royal family is based on rigid and archaic tradition! Good for Meghan and Harry to get out!

New game: Prescription side effect or something the British eat?

Eton mess, Cornish pasty, black pudding, Cullen skink, bubble and squeak, kidney pie...

I guess I'm just surprised with all Harry went through with the press and knowing what they did to his mom, and her estrangement from the family after birthing "an heir and a spare" - he HAD to know it would be bad. I'm also guessing the "bad stuff" a) wasn't worth what he would get out of the arrangement (yes, he was literally born into and had no choice in his life - but being the brother of a future king doesn't really seem to be a role where you can accomplish much - accomplish "too much" and you are upstaging the future king) and b) the birth of his kid made him and his wife realize this wasn't the life they wanted for him. Also worth noting - I can't believe Meghan didn't have a long sitdown with Sarah Ferguson about "the deal."
Admittedly all I know about the royals is what I see on "The Crown" but there does seem to be some kind of weird duality between what's going on with the family and what's going on with the ROYAL family. I don't know if any of them WANTED the life that they were born into, they never got to choose - and I imagine all of them look at Harry and Meghan wondering why they think they're special enough to just walk away. But even then - without the royalty, Harry and Meghan are about as significant as a pair of morning talkshow hosts.

Cousins can marry in the Royal Family but darkies aren’t allowed
    Then there’s Prince Andrew
