IIRC my old tabloid mentor, Wendy Henry, got in a lot of hot water when she published in the Sun a pic of Princess Margaret standing alone alongside a horse with the caption, “Princess Margaret, right, at this weekend’s Derby.”

 

Piers Morgan, who can’t understand why Harry and Megan aren’t tough enough to handle public criticism, leaves the set after another host criticizes him.

Honestly - I get the idea that the Royals are like animals at a zoo for most of the UK. A living monument to the country's past. I really don't know what would be worse - being one of the also-rans and try to live "your life" as best you can and put up with the nonsense - or being the head of the family and have to deal with all of the nonsense. FWIW - my understanding of this deal was that Harry and Meghan wanted to step away from being a Royal - I just don't get why they're hacked off about their son not getting a title or the funds being cut off.

Yeah, no. They wanted to be lesser royals. Do the big stuff, carry on with their own philanthropy, but not be on the balcony all the time. They wanted to be Eugenie and Beatrice, or even Fergie, with lives of their own. It had been made clear that, with Will having three kids, Harry's duty in the line of succession was complete. It was The Firm that booted them all the way out, in essence.
That said, Harry is and will always be the grandson of Elizabeth II. And his son doesn't get any kind of title? If you can't see that for the bullshit it is... well. OK.
As for titles, I've been told that under protocol, once Charles was King Harry's children would be princes and princesses, like Eugenie and Beatrice. They are grandchildren of The Queen and are princesses. It's possible that the sovereign will pass directly to Will, so I'm not sure what title Harry's kids would have. But as most of these people have multiple titles, it seems weird that they would say right off that Archie wasn't getting a title.
I'm not sure I'll ever understand how they can pull security from the queen's grandson who is also Lady Di's son. Tone deaf.

 

They wanted to quit being Senior Royals and move into a role like Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie. Basically, they wanted to be second-stringers instead of starters.
