Here's hoping Penn State can accelerate that process this week. ;)

Oddsmakers already have Notre Dame as double-digit favorites. As much as I'd like to see PSU walk out of there with a win, I have severe doubts.

Trust me, I do too. Penn State couldn't run on Akron, and I know it wasn't because of the defense. It was because that offensive line -- which lost four starters, I believe -- simply isn't the same.

    Yep. Notre Dame the fraud.

    Penn State = fraud.

Um, there was a reason Penn State -- which finished in the top five last year -- began the season ranked on the outskirts of the top 25. I wouldn't call them so much a fraud so much as a team that lost on the road to a top-five program. People expected this to happen to Penn State, hard to call them frauds.

But then, I know where you're coming from, being a Notre Dame fanboy looser. ;)

I'd say four years out of five Notre Dame is overhyped, overranked, overrated, etc. Not this year. If they win their next two games the Irish will be 11-0 when they head to Los Angeles.

Michigan will beat Notre Dame. ND just doesn't match up well - Michigan's a power running team, and Notre Dame still has a huge hole at one linebacker spot that they have been able to hide because they've played so much nickel against GaTech and Penn State.

Notre Dame will have to cause some turnovers to win this game, because Hart is going to rush for at least 120-130 yards.

Hell, with that schedule, A LOT of teams would be 11-0 heading to Los Angeles. I can think of three teams right off the bat ... in the SEC alone.

Edit: It's at least four. Forgot LSU. And I'm not sure it isn't five.

Not to threadjack, but if Penn State plays the way it did Saturday, this season has 2003/2004-level misery written all over it. JoePa will be exiting stage right at a time not of his own choosing.

Yeah right. After last season, he just bought himself five more seasons.

Ah, yes, Notre Dame plays a bunch of pansies, unlike Texas, USC, West Virginia, etc. No national title contenders ever play light schedules. Right.
True, if Notre Dame wins their next four games, they should win the next 7 and be 11-0 when they reach USC. But if they win their next four games, they'll have beaten four pretty quality opponents while most everyone else is warming up against directional schools and Division 1-AA.
They may not have the toughest schedule in the country this year, but it's plenty respectable.
