Yes 110% so, Ankiel has no chance at winning any comeback player of the year award now. The media is going to grill him and cut him so badly he might loss control with the bat now. Seriously maybe Ankiel was on steroids which made him paranoid thus causing his loss of control. Maybe after this he wanted to try HGH because it doesn't have any personality problem side effects and was a more natural supplement.

Yes, the court of public opinion aka SportsJournalists.com apparantly thinks Ankiel is guilty. I want to hear from Ankiel.

Actually, I think the Daily News would take a worse beating if they got this wrong than what happened to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on the Steelers' coaching story. This is a VERY damaging report to Ankiel. The Trib story did nothing but embarrass the Trib.

I agree that we may all have been too quick to attack Ankiel on this one. Then again, there were people accusing him of using something on this board before the report even came out.

If you're going to have vague and loose rules for accusing someone, at least be consistent with them.

The Daily News knows no rules in that regard.

And that second sentence is what bothers me. Accusations based on nothing, no hard evidence, just a "there's no way in hell he could jump up to the major leagues and do those things" attitude.
In hell, Judge Roy Bean is laughing.

It bothers me too because it happens too often.

A couple pages ago you said the Daily News didn't engage in "character assassination." Are you flipflopping on that now, too?

Boots, can you clear this up for me? Are you saying that the NYDN is throwing shit to a wall and hoping it sticks?

Really? Now how did you come up with that one. Because I said sue me?
