Your triplets are cute too.. Especially the one in the middle who came out with all of his hair on his back, instead of his head. Does he giggle when you tickle all the baby fat around his midsection?

Still not getting it. Oh well, I guess even Super Genius' have their limits on existential prose.

No worries, sweet! Trips are cool. I went to HS with some trips. That is like a 3 for 1 special as far as childbirth and stuff. Wife is probably stoked!

Alright, you all have fun till next time - I'm out!

Interesting take by Jayson Stark on why there are double-standards when it comes to people who are implicated as having obtained or used, and those that admitted using, performance enhancers.

Predictably, the fanboy loosers are out in full defense of Ankiel in the comments section, with a few exceptions.

    Proving Stark's point.

Did any of us actually doubt that there were more users out there? No. I think most of us simply believed that it doesn't excuse McGwire or Bonds or any of the others who have been implicated, caught or both.

And that's all I'm going to say about that, rather than mention the attention whore by name.

I do have one question. Why is this so much more of a big deal then when Gary Matthews, Jr. faced a similar situation a few months ago? That whole thing sure died down fast, didn't it?

Because I think unless someone is about to break a record or something significant like that, dying down is what happens in a lot of these stories.

They grab attention and then a week later we're onto the next thing. It's been since August 22 since anything was mentioned about the Mets clubhouse attendant naming names to Mitchell, and I would bet there aren't many who've thought about that list since maybe the 24th.

And apparently on their grasp of the possessive noun.

We're in the midst of history here folks. The triple play of stupidity has been hit on this thread: Boots, JDV and IndiansNetwork.

Glad someone else pointed that out. Maybe cranberry is paying attention. "One story" by Quinn and Co.

    Jealous much?

Pedro Gomez is on the Ankiel story.

He must be wondering why the fuck he ever left newspapers.

  12. I don't think it takes the luster off at all. If anything I think it looks like the media is a bunch of pricks on a witch-hunt out to destroy anybody who does something that grabs the nation's attention. Ankiel is being treated unfairly here by all the media, and I really don't think fans are going to buy into it. Fans are smart enough to know that he was on it as a pitcher for 8 months ... but now he's a hitter. I don't think taking HGH helps with your hand-eye coordination to the point that you can knock a baseball 400 feet.

I think this story doesn't die. I think people will get sick of the media and take Ankiel's side, much like when people got slick of the mud-slinging campaign tactics of the Rebuplican Party in the 1980s and early 1990s. Eventually, the public get sick of consuming "the world sucks" stories and wants a story it can believe in. Ankiel will not be questioned like the others. His situation is completely different and worthy.

I'm ashamed of what we as the media do sometimes. It's horrible the lack of thought we put in without someone just saying "hey, dont you believe we should think about this and do a lttle more homework" before we go and try to crush something. But its all about the C-Notes and selling papers and advertising.

Those wanting to fry Ankiel can kiss my ass.
