Could it be possible that they couldn't get Ankiel Thursday? They got him Friday. It's a fair story, unless you're (A) a fanboy or (B) looking to find fault just for shits and giggles.

    Markvid,

Yup, he is that fucking stupid. Just read his bleatings on the NL MVP thread.

Yes, Mark, he's that fucking stupid. He works at a water treatment plant, not in journalism. He's unable to differentiate between declining to comment and being unavailable for comment; and also doesn't know that by attempting to contact all sides, the reporters did their due diligence to the story.

So in Journalism school they teach reporters to just get cursory information and not look into both sides of the story before you run an article?

Why don't you take a few classes and find out for yourself; if they'll accept you, that is.

Hockey, this story was done earlier than Thursday. I know it had to go through a lawyer or two along with countless editors. For the sake of argument, it might have been done as late as Tuesday. It still gave them time to get a reaction from Ankiel or at least attempt to get one.
The writers admit that they went to Boras. There was no mention of trying to reach Ankiel.

He's the guy making sure our water is clean?

    Fuck.

Well, no more water for me.

You little piece of shit, remnants of a used condom:

THEY CALLED ALL PARTIES INVOLVED, ONE REFUSED COMMENT, THE OTHER DIDN'T RETURN CALLS...TOO FUCKING BAD.

Okay. My head is now exploding.

You admit that this story went through lawyers and editors. That it was thoroughly fact-checked. THEN WHY ARE YOU QUESTIONING IT?

Maybe, just fucking maybe, the Cards wouldn't give them Ankiel. Or maybe Ricky said, "Fuck you, I'm not talking."

The News did a great job with this. Anyone who questions their reporting is doesn't know what they're talking about, or is an idiot fanboy or is just trying to nitpick for nitpicking's sake.

I'm not nitpicking. I'm not a fan boy. I'm not an idiot. I've learned to question everything but that's an issue for another thread.
Hockey, like I've been saying, the story has been missing some elements that would make it an outstanding story.
And just because a story went through lawyers and editors doesn't mean something can't fall between the cracks. Like I said, where in the story is mention that they attempted to talk to Ankiel. To me, that's a red flag.
