Wow, what happened to the SportsJournalists.com I used to know and love? :-X

A serious discussion of an F-bomb and no one has said:

FUCK ME GENTLY WITH A CHAIN SAW!

The apology was lame. She did look quite shaken, however. It was obvious that she knew she, um, f---ed up.

I guess Goalmouth's not gonna start the running type your favorite swear word thread.

I'd argue that it's an extraneous word most of the time. Why use it? Of course, I use it plenty -- and I'm trying to stop using it, because I realize there still is a good segment of the population that doesn't like it.

I can't speak for all grown, mature adults who are offended by the word fuck, but I know people who are religious who would be highly offended by it.

If I weren't at a newspaper and I were running an office, I'd prohibit profanity. It's blatantly unprofessional.

Would you only hire robots without human emotion?

Not being offended by the F-word (or any other cuss word) is a pretty much a prerequisite for working in my office. Seriously, I have to tell people this before they get hired. Can't be too soft & get offended easily. It's just the nature of the people they have to interact with on a daily basis.

Sounds like a Bill Clinton line.

It's one thing to have or express emotion. But there are better ways of expressing yourself than using profanity. If you can't use anything other than profanity to get your point across, it's a sign of ignorance.
