That's 10 percent of the scheduled home dates.

I keep wondering when this thing ig going to be pronounced dead.
First they release drawings that have no scoreboard or bullpens.
Then they say, "We don't really want to be in Vegas. We want to forfeit 10% of our home dates so we can play in another city with casinos owned by whatever gaming company buys our soul."

I wouldn't be surprised if another entity comes in offering real plans and ideas for that piece of land in Vegas and the powers that be say, "sure!" Nothing says "commitment" like saying you want an annual hall pass before you even get married.

If the sport had a real commissioner they'd never let one of its franchises languish like this.

This is the absolute truth. Manfred runs laps around Selig in terms of moral ineptitude. And the next person will only be worse.

Think the only other time this has been tried was when Bill Veeck owned the St. Louis Browns.

My dad and an Air Force buddy were among the Grandstand Managers when the Browns beat the (then) Philadelphia Athletics on Aug. 24, 1951.

They were given cards with YES printed on one side, and NO on the other.

My dad and his pal are easy to pick out of the pictures of the crowd:

YES YES NO YES NO YES NO NO YES YES NO
NO YES NO YES NO YES ON ON NO YES NO
YES NO YES NO YES NO YES NO YES NO NO

Hell, today you could do it with a cellphone app and make strategic calls pitch by pitch. In 1951, they had one yes-no call per at bat (the starting lineup was selected by mail vote).

I believe that's how it works tonight.
