Am I really the only one who thinks that the order these guys were given was bullshit?

They were told to kill him unless he didn't resist and offered to surrender?

That kind of order is designed specifically to cover the ass of the person (or persons) issuing it. And, it put's any culpability on the boots on the ground.

So, the original narrative put out was that bin Laden was killed in a "fire fight", that he was armed, that he resisted, and that he used his wife as a human shield.

Well, shit. That sounds like a good kill then.

    But then the story changes.

It turns out there was no fire fight on the third floor of the house where he was found. Only he & one woman were there. He was unarmed.

But, Jay Carney says he was killed because he "resisted". Well, doesn't logic dictate that the next question is, "how did he resist?"

And, I don't ask this because I want or would ever want the SEALs prosecuted for their actions.

But, as given, doesn't the order beg the question?

And actually, give him credit, Cenk Uygur did just ask the question on MSNBC.

But, for a board full of journalists, this group seems very far from curious.

Oh, and I think it's pretty clear that the reason no autopsy was done and why the administration does not want to release a picture is because it will show that he was killed at extremely close range.

Unless something drastically changes I plan on voting for Obama in 2012. It does not mean that I won't question his decisions.

Overall I think he was done a very good job under difficult circumstances.

Obama said Sunday "after a firefight ..."

    He didn't say "during a firefight ..."

Shows you what I know. That's definitely not either of the helicopters I thought it could've been. And it's certainly not of the UH-60 variety -- the tail boom is too short and it has six (I think) tail rotor blades.

I stand corrected. That's certainly something new.

Kind of an odd random thought here, but I'm wondering what became of the blood stained carpets and blankets afterward. Did we take em with us, leave them for the Pakistanis to decide what to do with? Because that shit really could be extremely valuable, if nothing else just because of the DNA bonanza those blood splatters leave behind.

And could potentially provide an alternative way to provide evidence of his death for a White House that doesn't want to release photos, and a muslim world that doesn't trust our own collected DNA samples and tests. Don't believe us, fine, here's piles of spilled blood from someone, we'll let someone else test it to decide whose it was.

10 years from now, I'll be watching Pawn Stars on History Channel and somebody's going to walk into the pawn show with a bloody rug that he claims came from bin Laden's house.

And, Rick is going to ask him, "how did you get your hands on this."

And the guy will explain that his dad was a SEAL and was on SEAL Team 6.

Of course Rick will ask if he has any paperwork to back up his claim.

Why would the CIA use Russian made helicopters? Just for deniability?

And, where do we get them from?

I don't think that's "clear" at all, it is nothing but your unsupported speculation. And, again, does anyone really give a shit if it occurred "at close range"? This ain't like the covered up Tillman close range evidence, in this case I think most of the world would applaud the notion that OBL was offed up close and personal style.

And, on a seperate personal note, I wish you'd stop trying to fan the red v. blue Bush v. Obama flames as you've plainly been endeavoring to do recently. I'd thought your posts had recently moved beyond that, but you've really kinda reverted back to your former "bad YF" persona the last couple days, and this is a poorly chosen thread in which to do it.

How long until someone pitches a sitcom -- along the lines of Hogan's Heroes -- called Living with Osama set in the house in Abbottabad?

You'd have the guy that delivers the goat, the wacky neighbor, and the kids throwing balls over the wall for money as minor characters.
