Off topic, but why would they being fleeing Yemen right when the Government is on the verge of falling -- unless they were being protected by that government.

We're told to worry that Al-Qaeda will fill the void if dictators flee revolutions in MENA, yet they are freeing?

...although he had, what, 7 years to try?

...and had, what, about 4 years at least to find OBL in the same house he was killed in?

Sorry to be redundant. I tried to shake things up with a Pawn Stars-jack.

But, there are several questions and no one else is asking them, and they've gone unanswered.

I would think the coffee guy would be the one who would have to answer questions in a group of journalists.

Tell you what, why don't you just start a different thread on which to address those issues?

Because the Bush v. Obama pissfest that you've seemed intent on fomenting the last couple days has really clouded up this one, and not in a good way. Some folks want to discuss the OBL issue without having to wade through all the same R v. B piss in between, posters like you (and, admittedly, a few on the left, like McGwire) can make that tough to do.

    Sidebar.

Just for the record, Bush was not much criticized for his pursuit of OBL. Our early incursions into Afghanistan were applauded nearly everywhere.

The phenomenon you keep describing, especially the 'war criminal' stuff, began in 2003 and has everything to do with our calamitous misdaventure in Iraq.

    Proceed.

And, btw, I dig your new avatar.

I'm disappointed they didn't release the OBL kill shot. I wanted to use it as my avatar.

Dooley probably doesn't think I'm kidding.

I would say that our interrogations of KSM were part of our attempts to capture OBL.

Stop already with the left-right crap, YF.

"The left" is not a monolith. The entire American left was not calling George W. Bush a murderer, nor calling for his trial in The Hague. Any on the left who were doing that are idiots, and certainly no friends of mine. Plenty of us are more than content to let Bush and his cohorts face the dispassionate verdict of history after we're all long gone.

Continuing to use this same broad brush is not doing anyone any favors. Some of us would like to keep this thread from getting locked, because there are plenty of legitimate issues to be discussed. It's hanging by a thread, as has already been hinted at by two moderators.

It's a shame Walter Cronkite passed away.

Now, we'll never know if the "Most Trusted Man in America" would have given Obama the same benefit of the doubt that he gave George W. Bush in regards to Osama bin Laden:

This was in regards to the bin Laden tape that came out right before the 2004 election.

    So, you're trolling.
