Steve Hamilton was with the Yankees when I was a little kid in New Jersey. I remember he threw that "folly floater" pitch. I also remember having about 3,700 1968 and '69 Steve Hamilton baseball cards.

Despite all that I had no idea he played in the NBA.

I'll start with the easy ones.

Jim Thorpe, Ernie Nevers, Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders are among the Hall of Famers/Heisman winners.

Add Brian Jordan as one of the post-1970s.

Drew Henson is also one of the post-1970 guys.

They are all correct. Bo is one of the Heisman winners and Thorpe, Nevers and Deion are in the HoF. Bo, Deion, Jordan and Henson are in the post-70s group.

George Halas was the RF for the Yankees before the Babe, and played with the Staleys/Bears in the 1920s.

Ace Parker was the answer to another question here, and he played both sports.

All correct except Carl Hubbell. I think you meant Cal Hubbard, who played pro football and is in Baseball Hall as an umpire, but he never played in an MLB game.

I did. I knew he was an ump, but couldn’t remember if he ever played

Another of the post-1970s group would be Chad Hutchinson. He was a highly-touted two-sport prospect in San Diego when I was living there and despite the Braves taking him in the first round after high school, he chose to attend Stanford, where he started at quarterback and pitched for the baseball team.
He left college football after being drafted again in 1998 by the Cardinals, had a cup of coffee in St. Louis in 2001, and spent the next three years in the NFL, with the Cowboys and Bears.

We have both Heisman Trophy winners -- Vic Janowicz and Bo Jackson -- five of the seven members of the Hall of Fame -- George Halas, Ernie Nevers, Ace Parker, Jim Thorpe and Deion Sanders -- and six of the seven post 1970 players -- Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, Brian Jordan, Drew Henson, Chad Hutchinson and D.J. Dozier. The last guy will be hard, he punted in one replacement game and pitched in 9 MLB games.

Who holds the NASCAR record for consecutive DNFs?
    His nickname was "The Turtle."
Hint (not really): My dad helped build his cars.
