Hunchy Hoernschemeyer and Jug Girard are another great names of ex-Lions from that era.

What kind of nickname is “Hunchy” anyways?

i once heard Don Shula refer to Larry Csonka by that same phrase. I assumed for years it was slang for a person of Hungarian descent. Urban dictionary says it means someone is “amaze balls.”

Yes on Box. That’s five (Anderson, Johnson, Paige, Jones and Box).

The last one was the first to hit the milestone and he held the single-game record for almost 40 years.

It wasn't Don Hutson, was it? Seems too obvious.

It’s not Hutson, but this guy broke Hutson’s previous single-game record.

Seeing no more takers, the sixth receiver was former Arkansas Razorback Jim Benton, who played mostly for the Rams in the ‘40s.

Name the three NFL first ballot Hall of Famers who never played in a playoff game.

I don’t think Butkus and Sayers ever got to the playoffs.

Piggybacking off the last answer: Calvin Johnson?

Butkus and Sayers are two. Johnson played in two playoff games (2011 and 14).
