Without looking, I think it was Boston … but not sure if it was the Braves or Red Sox.

Neither. But he did play for the Red Sox.

Cleveland. The Spiders (what a great nickname) before they were stripped of all their good players, and then briefly for the Naps. Not sure which franchise all his Spider wins are credited to.

Guardians should have been the Spiders.

Right on. St. Louis and San Diego played a 1976 preseason game in Tokyo.
Sidebar from the late Conrad Dobler's first book: In what will probably come as no surprise, the flight there was quite the party plane. Tom Banks was apparently passed out in an aisle. That's all I recall off the top of my head.

EDIT: 1976 was also the year the NHL first played games in Japan. Kansas City and Washington played a four-game goodwill series.

I didn't know the particulars of who played or when, just had it stuck in my head that it was Japan.

What MLB players holds the record for most pinch-hit hits in a career?

    Who has the single-season record?

Career used to be Manny Mota, but I think it's Lenny Harris.

Smokey Burgess is my guess for singe-season.

Lenny Harris is correct. He had 212 of his 1,055 career hits as the pinch variety.

    Smokey Burgess is not correct.
