    No. Despite being one of the top 2-3 hitters of his generation, he only led the AL in hits just once, in 1985.

    No, no and no.

    Carew led the AL in hits three times. Oliver led the NL once, Madlock never.

    This is not some obscure player. Just someone who was much, much better than ever given credit for, until recently.

    Pretty sure it’s Tony Oliva. I followed his HOF, and that was one of his big accomplishments.
