Maybe because, I don't know, he does it at the expense of African Americans he claims to speak for?

I think his collective body of work heralded as food for thought in regards to race does more harm than good.

Look at how many of these so-called straight and narrow hacks on this site overlook the obvious flaws in his columns? He satisfies their indifference, an indifference that I feel is a growing and pervasive danger to our society on many fronts.

Shock, shock shock column your way into financial prosperity Jason. I'll be waiting to take in your insights when you provide me with more steak than sizzle.

It satisfies an indifference in the uninitiated.

But it builds a resolve in those that see throught the shock shock shock.

    There is a benefit.

Just keeping it real, you all.

I understand that, but like any column there should be a point to be made with a piece. I may be missing something here but what were you reaching for.

"She never envisioned the kids on her team becoming bigger targets of harassment and ridicule on a national level. Well, that predictable, sad reality is beginning to settle in now.

"Just last week, popular black comedian DL Hughley appeared on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' and completely trashed the Rutgers women's players. Hughley called them 'nappy headed' and 'ugly' among other things. 'The Tonight Show' has far more reach than Imus' old radio/TV show. Hughley resonates with black kids far more than Imus.

"I pointed all this out at The Forum. I sarcastically asked when we were going to protest DL Hughley. No one said a word."

I'm guessing that even if Rutgers doesn't hold the press conference, Hughley would have dropped the same lines, given the headlines that story got. In other words, they would have been a target, even without that press conference.

Change comes through awakening those who once stood idoly by. Have you heard of something called the civil rights movement? I don't think black folks made those strides without the help of others. Do you?
