I think you can damn the whole conference, especially after what Florida did to Ohio State last season in the championship game. Michigan also lost the Rose Bowl and Big 10 teams weren't exactly making easy work of "lesser opponents" all day yesterday.

This conference has been on the downslide for a couple years now, but I (a Big 10 fanboy loser) refused to believe it until yesterday.

Although, by the same token. I watched Auburn last night and they didn't exactly blow me away.

Perhaps the point we're all missing is this: The parity in NCAA football (at all levels, conferences and subdivisions) is tremendous.

I don't know whether Darren McFadden won the Heisman yesterday, but I do know that Mike Hart lost it, through no fault of his own.

  3. I was thinking that, too, Bat.
188 yards. Five TD's, and he doesn't have a snowball's chance unless four other guys get hurt.
He should have a chat with UM's special-teams coach.

  4. Is it just me or was UM's offensive line play on that last field goal comically bad?
It looked like a middle-school team.

Then explain how Penn State and Wisconsin beat Tennessee and Auburn in bowl games last season, IIRC. I mean, if it were that simple, wouldn't the SEC with that speed beat the Big 10 every time?

I think I read that Michigan was initially expecting Appalachian State to run a play from scrimmage (they'd just made a first down), and when they realized it would be a field goal, Michigan failed to properly substitute a special-teams player in time.

No, the failed sub was on Michigan's own attempt - at least that's what I read. Who knows?

Who knows? Probably not Michigan, still.

No. I knew Rosenberg had written a column, but I haven't looked at it yet. Now you're going to make me read it... lol

I've sat by for years while people have called for Lloyd to be fired. I really wish that had something in place, because Mike DeBord can't run a team (See: CMU) and Ron English hasn't been able to control the defense lately.

I'd be happy if they had something in place so they could can him...

also I bet a bunch of other coaches also have a lot of one point losses as well.
