Explain to me how bad offensive teams: PSU last year, and Wisconsin with a terrible offensive game in their bowl beat teams from the "speed conference."

The SEC might be better but the Big Ten isnt that overrated. For every big loss they have there is a big win. Remember when Ohio State beat Miami for their BCS championship a few years ago? That was a huge win. No one said the Big Ten was overrated then.

He meant on Michigan's field goal. And to answer that, someone missed an assignement (for the third time that day).

Also, App. State called a time out before their field goal.

It's just very hard for me to forget that 19-4 Pac 10 run in the Rose Bowl, or that the Big 10 has had one outright National Champion in my lifetime. I'm 37.

I think it was written into the Mayflower Compact that when talking about Ll(ll)oyd Carr as a coach, you must compare him to Jim Tressel.
    So I'll throw this out.

When Tressel, the master of 4 yards and a cloud of dust, play more conservative than an NRA rally, had what he knew was going to be a high-powered offense with Smith and Ginn, he changed his stripes to suit it.
Carr is in a very similar situation this year, but their offense is still boring throws to the TE, FB. Change with the times, man!

  5. It looked like five players missed assignments.

They just ran two guys at the wing, and he failed to block down then out. He didn't even touch the guy that blocked the kick.

I always look at it this way: If a guy comes clean like that, one guy missed an assignment and another guy missed a block.

Somebody's job is to at least slide off and chip him if he beats the first guy. On a field goal, literally all you have to do is get in his way.

    F the field goal attempt.

Why in God's name are you trying to win a game at home against a team from Boone, NC with a late FG? Trying to block for a kick is way down on the list of the things wrong with Michigan.

Will anyone give them a top 25 vote this week?

with so many polls no conference has had an outright champion in anyone's lifetime.

But if you want to go with the AP since we are all writers...

    2002: Ohio State
'97: Michigan (and if your gonna bring up the split with Nebraska then we can talk about PSU counting in '95)
    '86: Penn State
    '82: Penn State

Penn State wasn't in the Big (11) when it won those titles.

Penn State wasn't in the conference in 1982 or 1986, and it can be argued that their soft-serve Eastern schedule helped them each season. (Penn State's only ranked opponent in 1986, besides Miami in the Fiesta Bowl, was Alabama.)

I'd want to know the same thing as 93Devil: Anyone giving Michigan a Top 25 vote this week?

Also: Would Appalachian State deserve to be No. 25 or, at least, just out of Top 25?
