As much as I do not particularly like coach K, on the bench he's a cigar-store mannequin compared to Hurley.

Also, apparently No. 2 UConn is a 2 seed? At 31-2 with losses on the road at No. 1 and No. 5? That's kinda stunning

First inclination was to wonder if that’s a typo or an autocorrect problem. On second thought, tv can’t be dumb enough to have autocorrect, can it?

It is in one sense, but it also had a pair of top-20 opponents and a top-50 opponent in terms of strength.

That’s not good, but it’s basically fine, especially with some bad luck for three other programs.

The other 5-6 teams are fiery trash, but if they were 100 spots better, the SOS wouldn’t be a topic despite everything being functionally the same. They basically did the opposite of how everyone used to game the RPI, so if we punish them for it, we just encourage pointless gaming of the system again.

ESPN leaks the women's bracket - it goes viral, so ESPN says f- it let's roll it out and dozens of schools are now cancelling watch parties. Everyone in women's hoops should be positively livid. This is as much exposure as most of this sport gets.
My guess is that the NCAA takes back production of the announcement of the field (men and women and likely all sports) particularly with expanded sports betting.
This wasn't just a production glitch or a leak - but it has negatively impacted the sport.

Yes, there would have been 2-3K at the minimum at the Microville Tech party. It's a big deal to the program, which is at least as popular here as the underachieving men's team, and to others nationwide. ESPN ruined the moment for everyone. Yeah, I know, someone will say, "It's only women's basketball," but it's as important to them as it is to the men.

It’s pretty freaking important to any school that scheduled an event.
