Is there not a group rate somewhere? If it's official I just kind of assumed that would be the case. Did I miss that entire portion of this conversation?

Maybe we should call the Palms and see if we can get some sort of group thing set up.

That way we can drunk dial Ides and Uma on Sunday night

To clear my good name, they were calling the room I was sharing with Ragu, who was NOT part of the road trip crew, and who was waking up much earlier than I was.

OK, group rate people.

The Palms will give us standard deluxe rooms (1 King, or 2 queens) for $79 per night on the April 1 and April 2. That is the going rate for anyone at this stage, though, and is still a pretty decent rate. I asked, but without quaranteeing at least 20 rooms booked, they didn't want to give a lower group rate than that.

I booked online through Expedia.com and got a room at The Palms for both of those nights for only $42. So if you and a buddy or three want to split a room, that'd be only $21 per person based on quad occupancy.

If you want to go out a day earlier and party hard on Saturday, go for it. But the good rates at a very nice hotel/casino/resort are for Sunday and Monday evenings.

If you will be there and want to get together for a big SportsJournalists.com dinner Monday evening before the game, give me a PM so I can have a block of tables set aside for us.

 

I wish I had a chance to go on this excursion. Idaho and all, have a good time. And Jones, if you go to Vegas, follow through with the scholarship fund fundraiser deal, and my respect for you will shoot through the moon.
