Maybe we should just do it at the place with the BIGGEST (not necessarily the best) sports book. That way we can find a good section of seats to watch the Final Four games and toss back a few Diet Cokes, beers or shots of Jack Daniels.

We can golf/shop on Sunday and then reconvene for Monday's championship game.

Naturally, we wouldn't all have to stay at the same casino, but could have one designated as the gathering spot. That way the ones on a tighter/looser budget, or wanting a specific place could do their own thing and then join the party for the games, golf and dinner.

I'll drive my minivan down, so I -- as you might expect -- will be available to be the designated driver for several of you lushes.

Talking in relative terms . . . unless a couple of conventions crash into town, that's one of the quietest weekends of the year.

Sadly, the Stardust book will be gone by then.

As for cheaper hotel options, I've heard good things about the Golden Nugget. But it's downtown and Fremont Street is still sketchy at best. The Station casinos usually have good rates as well.

And, if you're willing to sit through a two-hour presentation about buying a time-share, you can get rooms in the Aladdin for $29 per night.

True, but as Tater Vegas said, people can stay in various places and we could meet at a designated sports book (and/or poker room).

That leaves out the Sahara, which has relegated its sports book to a corner of the lobby. It's got about 15 chairs facing about 6 TV screens. I'm not sure what they were thinking about on that one.

Funny you should mention beer. I'll get the others from the Toronto to vouch for why the above line is pretty funny to me.  

We thought we'd have a six- or 12-pack of soda/pop/something non-alcoholic to keep us on the road. Silly us.
