You organize it, we'll crash it (and make it fun.) ;)

And 3/30-4/2 works perfect for me. I'll be there. :D

Here's the deal with the Sahara, and why I like staying there:

It's cheap. If you like to play the table games (which I do), a little bit of play goes a long way towards comps. When i was there in April, all of my food was comped, the room was comped to leave us just taxes to pay (like $40). With the new bus lines out there, you can get a 24-hour pass for $5 and go anywhere on the strip you want, and up to Freemont to take in the Experience.

I know the Sahara isn't the glitzy type place, but the breakfast is good. Plus it's cheap, and for a lot of us, that's important.

So here's the deal. I'm in, but unless the rate at the selected casino is cheap, I'll probably get a room at the Sahara and just meet up with you guys. Hate to be the party pooper like that, but, that's so me.

Keep me informed on the doings, tater

Nothing wrong with staying and/or playing somewhere else. The big stuff, IMO, will be the Final Four, maybe a show, maybe a golf scramble and a group dinner. Of those, only the dinner and Final Four are gathering spot specific -- and even that is debatable.

So, sleep where you want, gamble where you want and meet us in the designated sports book for the games and at the designated buffet for dinner once or twice. I'm guessing too many of us will be hungover to worry about a breakfast gathering. :D

I'm not a big Vegas guy, so which sports book is the best place for 50-plus sports writers and hangerson?

Oh, and if anyone wants to get married while they are there, let us know so we can take pictures.

Cheaper is fine. This isn't the wallstreetSportsJournalists.com convention, you know. Many of us have to pay rent at the beginning of the month.

Room sharing can and should be encouraged. If you want to come, but you'll be coming alone, ask on this thread for a roommate. You can get a room with two beds and split the costs a little.

And, whatever happens in that room, is between you and your bunkmate.

Caesar's has a huge book, nicely appointed, and a super swank poker room.

The Flamingo is probably the best book, in terms of the staff knowing what they're doing.

Hard Rock has the best pool, with the best trim.

MGM Grand is the biggest, I think -- unless the Wynn overtook it -- and it has some seriously soft poker tables (cash games).

New York New York is reasonable, and the roller coaster is fun as hell.

Paris and the Venetian are nice and in a good, central spot.

Luxor and Mandalay Bay are too far south, I think.

There is the new Hooters, just south of the Grand. Might be worth a larf.

The Wynn is very sweet, as is the Bellagio (although I think the Wynn is really something else).

Ass: Las Vegas Hilton; Excalibur; Circus Circus.

Man, I have spent too many nights in Vegas. And by too many, I mean not enough. I'll try to make it out.

By that, of course, you mean that the pook is painted in an attractive contrasting colour around the edges, right?  :D

Of course. What else could I possibly mean, unless I was talking about hot girls in tiny bikinis? I certainly wouldn't stoop that low.

    Turquoise, if you're wondering.

The pool or the tiny bikinis?

And I knew that was what you meant.  Otherwise I'd have had to something like ... oh, I dunno ... give IJAG your phone number and tell her it's Elliotte's?

Oh man, nobody has ever called me a devious hydra before. I may need to make that my new sig.
