    I did the NCAA title game years ago in Vegas. Didn't watch in a sports book, but at Harry Carey's Holy Cow Brew Pub (since demolished). It was not owned nor endorsed by the late Cubs announcer. But growlers of microbrew were $8.

    There are quite a few junkets (room and flights) that run Sunday-Thursday for people looking to go on the cheap.

    Anyway, it's a good time to go. Not too crowded. Weather is damned near perfect. We even needed sweatshirts on a couple of days.

    BTW, Imperial Palace is expected to be demolished in 2007. New Frontier comes down this December to make way for the Montreux resort.

    I could get the days off no matter where they fall in the week -- as long as it's around that week (NASCAR/NCAA week is too busy for me on desk -- I'm needed here.)

    And I've only paid more than $100 for a room once in my life, but that's just me. No way I can afford to spend $179, that's for sure. (Unless I get a honeymoon suite, and I'm not on a honeymoon.)

    I'd rather spend my money on having fun in Vegas, not on a kick-ass room that I likely won't remember. Give me a powerful AC, no roaches and a hot shower, and I'll be set. :)

    I'm just trying to line up everything so our budgets and schedules can get the most out of this thing. Though I have some dates mentioned, it's still a flexible thing. But I really do think this will be the best weekend to do it. But I expect a big ass birthday party (no strippers, I'm a married spud and intend to bring the Umanator with me) in exchange for getting this organized.

    How many showed up in Toronto? I think we can double that number in Vegas, right? :D
