I'm no creep so I'm not going to show up at her place. Her phone is broken. I'm going to Facebook her saying I tried to call her.

    She won't think you're a creep.

But it's whatever you want to do.

If you really, truly believe she's out of your league, quit wasting your emotional energy and our time on someone you can't have.

If you think you're in the game, go for it and quit feeling sorry for yourself.

Either way, lose the self pity and get on with life.

Self pity never, ever gets the girl - at least not any girl you'd want.

Has anyone said this isn't going to end well yet? After 12 pages, I'm starting to get that feeling.

I'm of this age and I've got to be honest, the whole Facebook and texting thing seems more awkward to me then just trying to talk face-to-face.

  5. If Lyle Lovett can end up with Julia Roberts, nobody is ever out of anybody's league. And CR, I'm 24, I know what you're going through. It's hard as hell to work up the balls to call a girl you're not sure about. But bottom line is this ... what's the big fucking deal? It's just a girl. If she's just as shy as you, the liklihood is she wants to talk to you but is on her version of SportsJournalists.com asking people what she should do. So just ask. "No" hurts a whole lot less than "what if"

And Write-brained, this is infuriating, but I can't help myself from checking it every two hours looking for an update.

CR, good luck man. Think about rationally for two seconds and think about the effects of "no" vs. "what if" and it'll be a no-brainer what to do. Just have yourself a long island iced tea to calm the nerves and then go for it.

I'm not going to waste time reading pages 2-11. The first page and last post are enough to see what's going on.

SportsChick, so intelligent and wise, is dead-on with this advice from Page 1:

Stick a mitt in your drawers to see if you still have a pair, call her on a telephone to talk like people should and then go out for a nice evening or two or three.

Every person in the world is more shy when they're sober.
