How could you put anybody else in the national title game? Unless Rutgers goes undefeated, nobody else can make a claim that they should be in the national title game over Michigan. Nobody. They lost to the No. 1 team, on the road, by a field goal.
USC? Lost to an unranked team. Sorry.
Florida? Loss at Auburn, not bad, but Auburn isn't exactly a great team. Sorry.
Arkansas? Got blown out by 50. I know it was Week 1, but ... Sorry.
Notre Dame? Michigan killed you at home. Sorry.
I don't necessarily want to see a rematch, but damn, you can't put anyone else in that game other than Michigan.

Day Tripper, that rematch isn't going to happen, unless a lot of crazy things happen between now and December 3rd.

As of right now, USC is in the passenger seat, with Notre Dame waiting for the next cab.

Next week will be USC's game to win, 'cause I don't see Cal winning tonight. And everyone will be a USC fanboy due to their hatred of South Bend. I hate Carroll and his tendency to score late and often in blowouts as a sign of "F-U" to everyone.

Arkansas? If they beat LSU and Florida, they deserve to be brought up. It's how you did at the end of the year. That USC beatdown became an abherration in a hurry.

Boise State? They won't get Columbus but they are worthy of a BCS bowl bid, as do Rutgers if they take out West Virginia. You can bitch about the Big East, but the fact remains: they are part of the BCS Conference Cabal (aka Big Six).

Florida controls their own destiny. Too bad Western Carolina was part of that. Auburn has struggled late, but a win is a win over 'Bama.

Notre Dame beat USC next weekend and, sorry, they will have a bandwagon on their side. Like it or not.

if usc wins tonight, i bet it will be the notre dame-usc winner vs. ohio state for the national championship.

michigan may deserve a rematch, but it won't happen. i'm not a voter, but if i was, i wouldn't give michigan another shot at ohio state. why should ohio state have to beat michigan again for the championship? i don't believe the buckeyes would be put in that position.

    just my opinion.

    Rematch.

Those are the two best teams in the country.

    Only other argument is Rutgers.

For all you people who didn't think West Virginia or Louisville belonged because no defense was played in that game, I offer into evidence, that you were full of shit, the 81 points scored in this game.

What's funny is that Whitlock blasts the Big East for a lack of defense when Louisvillle beat West Virginia 44-34, with none of the conference's Big Three in his top 10. He told the AP that with that lack of defense, those three had no chance to beat anyone from the SEC.

And yet, a lack of defense here will be seen as the two best teams in the nation. Double standard in play here.

But let's consider, just for a moment, what a match-up between these two on a neutral field (not one that isn't yet cured form a resod). I think that changes the complection of the game.

Just a thought. However, I see USC losing at least one more, Arkansa losing. As far as Boise State and Rutgers go, I don't think they are the caliber to make it an exciting game. I believe we saw the best 2 teams in the nation on the field in C-Bus today. I would like to see the outcome on a neuttral site, with a non-Big TEn officiating crew.

Louisville lost to Rutgers. Louisville is out of the equation now.

Shockey: So Michigan wouldn't get a rematch but Notre Dame, a team that got its ass handed to it by Big Blue, gets one if it beats USC? Smith would throw for 500 yards in that game.

And Jimmy Olson would still label him a myth.
