Don't forget Henne missing Manningham on what should have been an easy touchdown pass. That drive ended in a punt. That was the play I kept thinking about late.

  2. there's a huge difference betweeen two heavyweights staging a great shootout and two bad defenses squaring off and producing a shootout... i have the game tivo-ed and i'll check it out tomorrow morning....

boy, that powerhouse rutgers looks great tonight. i'm embarrassed i have them ranked 11. they should be in my top 5...

It was a really good and close game like all Ohio State-michigan games are but Ohio State would have won it much easier if you take away the uncharacteristic turnovers.

I never said Rutgers would win. I did say if Rutgers ran the table in a BCS conference, it ought to get a shot at the title over one-loss teams. Obviously, should Rutgers lose tonight, they don't deserve that chance.

Pretty simple argument you seem to have stretched into something else, Junkie.

I don't think I ever implied it. I was simply fed up with the thought that Rutgers, should it run the table, still didn't deserve the chance to prove itself against the Michigan-Ohio State winner today. We've seen too many upsets in the last 25 years to assume anything when it becomes a one-game grab for the title.

As for, "Any college football fan that doesn't want a rematch clearly doesn't like the sport." Yeah, right.

So if USC were to finish with tone loss with wins against Arkansas, Nebraska, Cal and Notre Dame, they wouldn't deserve a shot? Michigan has beaten Wisconsin and Notre Dame, yeah. But should Arkansas win the SEC, it would be hard to argue against a team that beat the SEC champ 50-14 on the road.

You know what's funny? When Ohio State had trouble scoring against Indiana, people were busting on "the greatest offense of all time". Fair enough. But they hung 42 against a Michigan team that had one of the best defenses in the country, and so what do we hear? NOBODY PLAYS DEFENSE IT'S UNFAIR TO BUST ON THE BIG EAST WHEN THE BIG TEN'S BEST TEAMS ARE JUST AS SHITTY. God knows if Rutgers (the same Rutgers losing 17-3 to the Cincinnati Not The Bengals) had scored 42 on Michigan, the SJ servers would be coated in underdog fanboy jiz. I understand railing against the overexposed, but at least let's be fair about it.

At least Florida survived against Western Carolina.

Why did Musburger not jump all over that?

At least he got in some jabs at Carr for his perpetual whining to the officials. Just shut up and coach the game.

So it's not who you beat, it's who you lose to? Are you saying that if Michigan had won that game, Wisconsin would have had more of an argument to play the BCS title game than Ohio State?

I know that's not what you're arguing, but you could draw that argument from that theory.

So had Michigan won, your BCS title game would have been Michigan-Wisconsin? Brilliant.

    Michigan's a lock for the Rose, isn't it---against USC-Cal loser.
