If they were such outstanding defenses though then they wouldn't have given up 42 and 39 points. I was more impressed with USC's defense holding the highest-scoring team in the PAC-10 to nine points personally.

They gave up 42 and 39 points ... to each other ... how does that mean they don't have great defenses? They've dominated every team all season -- both of them. (Lloyd Carr doesn't dominate the scoreboard, but that's been discussed ad infinitum.)

Those are two great, great defenses. And OSU has a great, great offense. Like Whitlock said, it was two heavyweights going at each other.

Just because the stats look the same as one of this season's undercards doesn't mean that they're not clearly the class of the field.

    Ball State at Michigan.

Starters also re-entered the game and couldn't stop one-dimensional Ball State.

Actually, when the starters re-entered the game, that's when they took control.

Yea, took control to the tune of an eight point win, that's damn impressive.

Took control when refs ignored a flagrant pass interference on fourth-and-goal, which would have given Ball State four more shots from inside the 5.

And with the way Michigan's offense did nothing late, the Cardinals very well would have made the stop they needed if they needed to score again, should they have missed on the two-point conversion.

That's why I disagree with the notion that Michigan dominated everyone else on its schedule.

Turns out this game really WAS Rutgers-West Virginia, just with 6,000 times more hype.

I think we can keep the bullshit taunting to the current threads.

Or people could just grow up around here ... on both sides of this stupid argument.
