Oklahoma State coach Gundy blasts Oklahoman columnist

Discussion in 'Journalism topics only' started by Precious Roy, Sep 22, 2007.

  1. So we can't question anything unless we've done it ourselves?
I guess Bush's approval rating just hit 99.99999 percent (only the ex presidents are allowed to disapprove).

So athletes are infallible and we should never question them?

Yep, you are a complete and total joke. Hope you enjoy the Kool-Aid.

A little reading comprehension there sportschick.
I never said that a female couldn't understand football, or even that Carlson doesn't understand football. She might be the world's foremost authority on Oklahoma State football history (limited as it is), but we can BOTH AGREE she has no personal knowledge, history or understanding of what kind of pain tolerance it takes to play football. None. Neither do you. And for the sake of full disclosure, neither do I. But then again, i didn't write a column calling a backup college quarterback soft.

I'm around the Big 12 enough to know that Carlson is probably right about Reid. I can't vouch for every single fact or rumor in her piece, but the tenor rings true. Anyone who covers the Big 12 seriously knows that Reid pushed like hell for a transfer in the offseason.

    Does that matter to anyone?

No, we can't agree, because playing football is hardly the only way to incur a sports-related injury. Last time I checked, for example, a torn ACL resulted in the same amount of pain whether it comes from football, basketball or softball, but keep telling yourself whatever you need to sleep at night. You're obviously a sexist, athlete-worshiping foof.

Somehwere in Oklahoma there's a dude wearing a used jockstrap over his face and spankin' it to a big poster of an OSU football player...

Obviously. That's exactly what I am. Funny though I dont remember Carlson bringing up a torn ACL, i thought she insinuated he had a phantom injury and that he didn't 'gut it out' a few times when he could have.
