It's not about taking sides. Nearly everyone on here has said the coach is an idiot for acting like he did, but the column was not very good. Both are true. Why stick up for a coach who was wrong in his actions or for a writer who did not do a very good job in her column?

And I'm really disappointed that someone who works for the editorial department of a newspaper believes it's "us against them." I'm not supporting anyone solely because they work in our business. To the contrary, based on that column, I'm not all that thrilled that she and her editor are (for this week anyway) the face of our business.

Well, that's where we disagree. I'd prefer my newspaper to be innuendo-free.

And even if the column is true, its sourcing is inexcusably vague.

I will agree that that if she were using unnamed sources within the program, she should have attributed her stuff to unnamed sources within the program -- and not "rumors and rumblings."

Also, she's a columnist, she's allowed to have an opinion Why not just write, "Bobby Reid does not have the toughness to be a Big 12 quarterback?" If that's your opinion, write it. No need for vague attributions or stretched-too-thin anecdotes there.

Who will be the first to post parody video of this? Someone needs to put on an orange shirt, spike his hair, and add some eyeliner, then go on about, "LEAVE BOBBY REID ALONE!! Anyone who has a problem with him, you go through me!!"

I saw that segement, and Palmer comes off sounding like a complete dunce. Greenberg asked him about criticizing college athletes. Palmer's response was that the OSU players would play better next week because they know their coach has their back. Greenburg paused, then asked the same question again. A waste of air time

Good point. If she wanted to say something, say it. It's her opinion, that's what she writes a column for. No need to dance around the issue like she did.

    Some Guy,

What if it's spot on? So you agree a guy's manhood is directly related to his chicken-eating habits?

Did some volunteer work last week. The agency fed us. Not literally. We put the food in our own mouths.

Was the player eating chicken his mother brought him, or was she literally feeding it to him, putting it up to or in his mouth? Do we know? Sorry if I missed this.

  12. A mother feeding her 21-year-old son pieces of chicken is an anecdote that directly supports the column's thesis.
