This is funny. Go to this site and click on the video titled "Gundy on Coors Light." Classic.

I'm afraid that this whole thing could blow up in Carlson's face.

I didn't go through the whole thread, but I'm just wondering. What if her facts were wrong? Was Gundy justified?

    He went too far.

And also the crap about getting nervous before games.

I've heard, hmmm, only about 300 athletes admit to getting "butterflies." etc., before a game.

Must have missed it when that became evidence of a weak-kneed sissy.

    That's pretty good.

Somewhere around the 4th page, this became a matter of whether you wanted to bash Carlson, or you wanted to bash Gundy.

There's plenty of bashing room on either side.

yes, but as i said before, he put this behind him with the presser i saw today on sportscenter (to be fair, i didnt see the whole thing and maybe he wasn't fully sincere. but from what i saw, he made it seem like he knew he messed up and should have handled it behind closed doors). that being said, she's the one who's willing to stick to her guns with her sources and observations (and from what it sounds like, she didn't observe too much but her keyboard).

both sides were wrong, but only one side rectified the situation. to me, jenni loses a lot of credibility here.

What's wrong w/ PBR? It's pretty good for how cheap it is. I wouldn't drink it every night, but it sure is better than Beast or Natty [/RecentCollegeGrad]

Both deserve bashing. Carlson's piece was irresponsible unfair crap, Gundy's tirade was hysterical unprofessional bullshit. But Gundy's tirade is what it is, either he looked like an idiotic buffoon to you or not, there's not much left to discuss. Carlson's issue isn't as simple and leaves more room for debate. Especially when there's journalists out there praising the column as if it were quality work (see Skip Bayless).

  9. Again, I don't see why you're letting Gundy off the hook. He question her credibility and has repeatedly refused to explain what she got wrong.
I firmly believe it's because she got the facts right.
We can argue about whether she crossed the line, but the vast majority of the media in this state will tell you that the facts in that column were correct.
Until he apologizes for attacking her credibility -- which is really all we have as journalists -- I'm not letting him get away with being almost sorry.

"I firmly believe that my reporting is solid, my sources are solid, my observations are solid, so I stand firmly on the facts of the column."

my observations? what observations? she wasn't there. credibility takes a shot. simple as that.

Okie is one of the few who has posted on here who gets it. A few others have said, "oh, it was a shitty column." Doesn't give him the reason to treat all reporters like shit. He's getting a quasi-free pass.

  12. Gator, have you read her column? Have you read the rest of the posts on here?
She wasn't there -- in Troy, correct.
She has been in this state while Reid has been for the past four years.
She was told about the chicken thing by a beat writer who saw it.
We all report things we didn't see ourselves nearly everyday. That's why you have sources.
Do we now have to see every single thing we are going to report with our own eyes?
