Oklahoma State coach Gundy blasts Oklahoman columnist

What crazy tangental road has this thread gone down in the last 24 hours? I lost track after page 30 or so.

 

People can't throw around sophomoric personal insults on a thread involving a sports-related issue? What SportsJournalists.com have YOU been frequenting?

It's that parallel-universe SportsJournalists.com. Like the old Star Trek episode where Spock has a beard and everything's just a bit off.

 

In the latest twist, Gundy says he didn't mean to yell but got angrier as his little tantrum escalated.

He also says he knows conversations with coaches didn't occur to contribute to Carlson's column.

Down in the story toward the bottom, Gundy says this:

I think it would be wonderful if everyone laid off OSU for a week. No coverage of practice, the game, the pressers, nothing. No newspaper, TV, radio or web coverage. Nothing. Zero.

What a dickhead.

 

Less crap for the Oklahoman to have to worry about, too. As was said in the discussion of the Women's World Cup, most college coaches don't want coverage. They want publicity and that's not our job.

What a bunch of shit! If you read the comment in it's context. You'll see that you are not accurately representing what Gundy said. He was obviously talking about "the rant", not the program. Grow the fuck up.

 

Mora's tirade was in reference to a question about the team's pass rush. And his response was, "You may think you know pass rush ... but you ... don't ... know ... and you never ... will."

 

Saw that ESPN had highlights of the worthless game between Oklahoma State and Sam Houston State. Let it go already ESPN.

I know what he said. He said he didn't want any coverage of him (not the team).

My response stands: it would be neat to see everyone take a week off from covering the Pokes. The thing is, Gundy wouldn't care and they could spin whatever "news" they wanted through their own channels. So that wouldn't be the best thing.
