And how the hell did he land a gig at the National Cowboy Museum after all that!?! (TBF, I can't find any proof he works there aside from the Poynter article though.)

Why do cowboys always have shit in their mustache?

"A gig at the National Cowboy Museum" could mean a whole lot of things.

Can't imagine anyplace would hire him for a position that has any heft or responsibility to it. Could just be selling tickets at the front counter?

I mean, how do you forget to send in credential requests for the two biggest games of the season? Even though I know how it ended, that was a huge tell.

Maybe I haven't been around the block enough but I've never heard of something like that.

I've dealt with a guy with some tendencies like Koehler. All fired up for the big event, thinker-planner, let's do this and get that and make this-that-those the bombshitdiggity. Always enthusiastic. Always fired up, always optimistic.

And then when The Big Project arrives, all that goes away. It's like an addict seeking the rush, getting the high and hating the comedown before slinking away. I asked my guy about it and he admitted it was, and then told me about his past drug addiction. Hadn't known about that.

Not saying Koehler is an addict, bc it sounds like he's a shitty "get the hard stuff done" person. But the enthusiastic, big promise, rah-rah tendencies sound familiar.

Also, Stoops, Miller and Keith (his son) all have a shitload of money. Toby Keith still gets royalties from Taylor Swift, who he signed to her first record deal 20 years ago.

I get that a contract's a legal document, but they couldn't just say, "Ehhh, this was fucked up. Let's just all walk away." and be done?

I can't help but think this whole thing has destroyed some decades-long friendships.
