When the New York Post rips you as a right-wing windbag, you have a problem.

Oh yes she can have it both ways. She's a hermaph, frisbee boy.

  3. There's no cause to be calling Coulter names. That's more telling of you as a person and it is also an unnecessary to drop down to her level. She's the right's Ted Rall or Ward Churchill - that's all.

I don't know anyone who has read her books and I know I will never waste my time on them (I will also not waste my time on Al Franken's books - two sides of the same coin really - both are just interested in knee-jerk reactions).

My understanding is that she first gained notoriety as a "good-looking" blond conservative. She may be blond and she may be conservative be she ain't good looking (Skelator's love child maybe?). Does anyone find her even mildly attractive?

She's just as radical to the right side of the aisle as the kooks on Democratic Underground and the Daily Kos are to the left.

Neither contribute anything to the political discourse to this country other than hate.

But, and answer truthfully, would you grudge-hit it?

As the small percentages on each side of the political ledger scream, yell and get headlines, the majority stuck in the middle clamors for leaders who sympathize and think rationally. Sad really.

I second the honorable JBHawkEye's remark.

  8. Again - and again and again --
When did any of the people currently be compared to Coulter appear on the cover of TIME Magazine?
How many DU commenters have six-figure book contracts?
When was the last time Ward Churchill was on the TODAY show?
    Nice try, fellas.
And Michael Moore has never -- N-E-V-E-R -- said anything close to what the she-he said about the 9/11 widows. Don;t even try to find anything. It;s not there.

But...but...but Michael Moore said bad things about the President! And he's fat! [/right wing talking points]

  10. Did Moore shed any tears when "Minuteman" al-Zarqawi was killed recently? Was Coulter ever quilty of trying to use a person suffering from Alzheimers as a prop (C Heston)? Did Coulter get a place of honor at the RNC like Moore did at the DNC?

And yes Moore is still fat and Coulter still needs a sammich

Comparing Iraqi insurgent terrorists to the American Revolution certaintly is in the ballpark.

"The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not 'insurgents' or 'terrorists' or 'The Enemy.' They are the revolution, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow - and they will win."

That said, I believe there is no justification for Coulter's continued fame and I find her fame to be rather sad. Coulter is many things, but dumb is not one of them. She did her undergrad at Cornell and was the editor of the Michigan Law Review. She has brains and could be an intellectual force for conservatism. All she does now is embarass it. I get the feeling that when Coulter hit the TV/radio circuit to promote her first book (which I have not read, but from reviews sounds much tamer than her typically polemics and actually has some scholarship) that she discovered that the more outrageous she was, the more often she got booked and the more people ate it up. Now she has to scale new heights to get noticed and each time she does, any chance she has of regaining credibility goes away.
